For as long as she can remember, Tina has always had a passion for creating. As a child, much to her parents’ dismay, she had no filter for the creative process. She painted furniture and walls, reconfigured her (and her sister’s) toys and even cut her own hair! Little did they know, it was the beginning of something wonderful.
After completing her honours degree in Foods and Nutrition at the University of Western Ontario, Tina attended George Brown College to pursue a career in culinary arts. It was here that she realized her heart belonged to confections. On a whim, she offered to make a friend’s wedding cake and was so pleased with the outcome that she knew she had finally found her creative outlet.
As much as Tina enjoys creating beautiful cakes, she knows that a cake is only as good as it tastes. She prides herself on using only the finest, freshest ingredients and offers unique flavour combinations for those willing to experiment. No request is too outrageous to attempt, as she does enjoy a challenge!
With the creation of 13 Baking Company, Tina is delighted to provide confections for any event, big or small. In addition to cakes, 13 Baking Company creates custom decorated sugar cookies and other baked goods, as well as small-batch, handcrafted ice cream.
